INSTAGRAM TRANSCRIPT · TEST NOTE
Does instrumental background music appear in an Instagram transcript
In two tests of narration with instrumental background music, no instrumental-music words appeared in the returned transcript; this is an observation about those two no-vocals files, not a claim about every Instagram video.
On October 25, 2026, a 195-second narration-and-music file generated in 63 seconds with zero lines of music text, and a 9.4 MiB, 73-second narration-and-music file generated in 44 seconds with complete narration text, available SRT, and zero lines of music text.
What these tests did and did not cover
A top-result page discusses sung lyrics being transcribed when music is louder than the voice. This page records a different case: instrumental background music under narration. It does not assess whether the other case is right or wrong.

Use the result as evidence for its own input
These two successful tests support only a narrow answer: instrumental background music did not show up as text in these narration-plus-music files. A different mix, a singer, or louder music is a different input and needs its own test.
If a selected file produces no useful text, use the empty-transcript guide to check for audible speech before drawing a conclusion from the result.
If processing does not start, remember that the browser-prepared audio must be 20 MiB or smaller; the Instagram video size limit guide explains that separate check.
